Q&A

What people ask us most, answered plainly.

What does Pistonara do?

Pistonara is one of the educational information sites run by The Nelson M Group LLC. Everything on it is auto insurance information, written for ordinary readers.

Will insurers or agents see what I submit?

No. What you send stays with us and is not sold, rented or passed to insurers, agents, quote sites or other partners. For the details, read the Privacy Policy.

Who runs Pistonara, and is it an insurance company, agent or broker?

No. Pistonara is an information website published by The Nelson M Group LLC. We do not sell insurance and we are not licensed to, and the guides are not insurance, legal or financial advice.

Which fields are required?

No. Leave the email, mobile and ZIP boxes empty if you like. We ask only for your name, a topic and agreement to the privacy terms.

Is this for reporting a claim?

No. To report a claim or get roadside help, contact your own insurer. If anyone is hurt after a crash, call 911.

What do I get when I sign up?

You get educational information on the topic you pick, sent by email if you leave an address. Opt in to texts and short messages point you to the same guides.

Do I need to opt in to text messages?

No. You are only texted if you tick a box yourself, and there is one unchecked box to choose from. Leaving it blank is fine.

Will you match me with an agent or insurer?

No. We do not recommend, rank or match you with companies or agents.

Can I cancel the text messages?

Reply STOP at any time to opt out; reply HELP if you need help. Email [email protected] if you would rather write.

How often will you text me?

Message frequency varies and runs up to about 8 a month. Message and data rates may apply.

Do you value modified cars?

No. We explain concepts only.

How do I stop emails or delete my information?

Every email has an unsubscribe link. To delete what we hold, write to [email protected].

How much will my policy cost?

We cannot say, and we do not estimate it. Cost varies by state, vehicle, drivers and insurer, which is why the guides concentrate on what drives the number.

Can you insure my build?

No. We do not sell insurance. A licensed agent can discuss options.
